Kia ora from the Homestay Plus team. As we approach the end of the year, we want to thank you for your continuous support and share a combined update for November and December.
1. Host Availability Check for January 2026
We are now finalising placements for our January group, which is always the busiest intake of the year.
If you haven’t confirmed your availability yet, please let us know:
- Whether you can host in January
- Your preferred student type (age/gender)
- Any household or transport changes
Your quick response helps us complete placements before the holiday break.
2. Welcome to Our New Host Families
A warm welcome to the new families who’ve joined us across November and December.
We’re delighted to have you in our community. Hosting is more than providing accommodation — it’s about sharing culture, building relationships, and creating meaningful memories. Thank you for opening your homes and hearts.
3. Police Vetting (PVS) Processing Time
A reminder that Police Vetting can take up to 20 working days to process.
If you recently submitted your forms, results may arrive closer to mid-December or early January.
We will notify you immediately once your clearance is returned.
If there are new adults living in your home or expired vetting, please send updated forms as soon as possible to avoid delays in placement.
4. Interested in Hosting Next Year? Register Now
If you would like to host in 2026, now is the best time to register or update your details.
Registering early helps us:
- Schedule your home visit
- Prepare vetting ahead of time
- Prioritise you for both short and long-term programmes
- Match students more smoothly in the new year
